The traditional end of year concert of the Worcester Classical Guitar Society is the big event in the society calendar with performances from both the Junior and Senior orchestras and this year is no exception.
Back in the spring the WCGS played host to the workshop led by the Italian virtuoso Emanuel Segre and joining us on that occasion were the members of the Derby Classical Guitar Society Ensemble, coming together in an orchestra of unprecedented size and exceptional musical force. The experiment was so successful that we have decided to repeat it for your entertainment. Joining us for this musical extravaganza will be our patron, Hayley Savage, who will be performing the solo to the combined forces of the orchestra's in Stephen Dodgson's Watersmeet.
Apart from the Worcester Classical Guitar Orchestra and the Worcester Youth Guitar Orchestra who will be performing a selection works, the programme is to include Gustav Holst's St Paul's Suite, and various other musical offerings including solos from Jake Brooks and the society's music director, Stephen Begley and the marvellous Worcester Classical Guitar Quartet.
