Andrew Booth -
The Penbridge Trio

The Penbridge Trio was formed during the 2009 SoundSCAPE festival, an event held annually in Italy to promote the collaboration of an international body of performers and composers, working together to give world premières of works written specifically for the festival by the participant composers. As a trio of unusual instrumentation, violinist Martha Morrison, guitarist Andrew Booth and pianist Bryan Kelly decided to embark upon a concert series to explore the repertoire for this unique instrumentation, continue their collaboration with emerging composers and promote the performance of contemporary music.
The trio have arranged a series of concerts in the UK in Summer 2010, which has been made possible with funds generously raised through the Kickstarter website. In this concert series, the trio will be performing a new commission by Donal Rafferty and other cutting-edge new music by composers including Brian Hulse, Philip Schuessler and Paul Richards.
