A New Artist's Scheme production
Young British guitarist Andrew Booth is a recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where he studied under Craig Ogden and Gordon Crosskey. Andrew is in demand throughout the UK as a recitalist and is currently a member of the Countess of Munster Trust Recital Scheme. In 2009 he gave a tour of Ireland and performed in Italy at the soundSCAPE contemporary music festival.
Whilst at the festival, Andrew was awarded the prestigious Performer Prize and, together with fellow participants, formed The Penbridge Trio. This trio, consisting of Violin, Piano and Guitar, will embark upon a UK concert series in summer 2010, premiering works such as Sunstone by the American composer Brian Hulse and a new commission by Irish composer Donal Rafferty.
Andrew’s set offers an eclectic mix of music encompassing genres spanning the globe throughout history and his concert for the Worcester Classical Guitar Society will be no exception. The programme is to include music from the Renaissance to the present day, taking in jazz and contemporary styles along with, with works by Praetorious, Albeniz, Domeniconi, Rodrigo, Cooperman and Cole Porter.
