Biography
Monika Týmlová (pronounced Teem'lo'vah) of the Czech Republic started to learn guitar at the age of seven. She later studied at the Pilsen Conservatory and under the direction of Zdeňka Holá graduated in 2005. Monika is the winner and laureate of several national and international guitar competitions for young guitarists.
In 2006 she was admitted for study at the Birmingham Conservatoire where she is pursuing her guitar career with Mark Ashford. In 2008 Monika won the Birmingham Conservatoire guitar competition with a set that included two works from the current programme: Giuliani’s ‘Grand Ouverture’ and Domeniconi’s ‘Variations on an Anatolian Folk Song’.

Jiří Sladkovský, also of the Czech Republic, started to learn guitar at the age of thirteen. In 1998 he was admitted for study at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory in Prague and graduated from there in 2004. During his studies he performed at various venues and occasions. In 2007 he won his fellowship with the London College of Music in classical guitar performance and in 2008, he gained his MA in music from Wolverhampton University.
